It is hard to tell from where I sit about global warming and it’s effects on our everyday lives. It is all around us, all the time, with gradient changes that are so slight that there is still some debate that it (global warming) is even happening at all!
I submit that of course it is happening, even if we didn’t leave such a large carbon footprint through industrialization, human beings naturally exude heat and carbon dioxide. That is what is called oxidation and waste products.
The natural left-overs from burning calories, just like burning wood, are carbon and heat. So it follows that we are contributing to the warmth of the planet just by being here. Can you say Duh?
So, we have now affirmed that humankind is creating heat and carbon dioxide which in turn is contributing to the global warming problem.
One of the most basic laws of the universe is that everything tends to equal out and remain in balance. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, eh?
If one can visualize the Earth as a living, breathing organism, which of course it is, then it would follow that if there are radical climate changes, if the polar ice caps melt, if there is a re-location of the magnetic poles, if ocean currents change their channels, it could be considered an infirmity or illness, if you will, of Earth.
Just like when a human has heartburn, which is an imbalance of digestive juices, and takes an anti-acid preparation to equalize the stomach acid, the Earth needs to equalize the problems we are causing by being here.
Perhaps a better metaphor would be just like when our bodies get invaded by a virus or germ and we get sick (ill, infirm, not healthy) and we develop a fever, the Earth is sick and infirm and is developing a fever.
Our bodies, being the wonderful machines that they are, fight invading viruses and germs and all foreign matter by raising their ambient temperature, thus providing an environment that the foreign invaders cannot tolerate, which drives the invaders out or destroys them.
Many sicknesses or illnesses do what is popularly known as “run their course” which basically means that you do nothing and the illness will burn itself out of your system by itself after it’s normal and predictable life-span.
Do you see what I’m driving at, here? Do you think that it might just be possible that we, us, humankind, are the invading germs or viruses and that the Earth is trying to throw off this infirmity or illness by raising it’s own ambient temperature in an effort to destroy us?
Or, are we as the foreign invading illness being left alone to “run our course” and eventually burn ourselves out, leaving the host healthy once again? Can you dig it?
I would take this conjecture to ridiculous levels and propose that the coming global disaster that has been predicted for December 21, 2012 is to us more than God’s punishment as some would believe.
It is more than a cycle of sunspots that is mathematically predictable.
It is more than Earth’s alignment with the center of the galaxy or a repositioning of the magnetic poles.
It is more than the third world war that is currently brewing in the Middle East.
It is way more to us than the economic difficulties that most of the world is experiencing.
In the “Big Picture” , the coming global disaster is nothing more than the Earth performing the simple, bodily function of rejecting the foreign invaders that are harming it, and shitting out the waste.
